Dear Sideline Parents,
As we are now in the final week before our gym reopens, we have been asked a few questions and wanted to help clarify some things. Outlined below is the safety protocol that we currently have in place. We will continue to comply with these safety precautions until we receive further guidance from the government and deem it no longer necessary.
Sideline Spirit Safety Measures:
1. IF SICK, STAY HOME: If you or your child are sick and/or have a fever, cough, cold or similar symptoms, please refrain from coming to the gym. If your child displays symptoms of illness, we will insist that they leave the gym, and if possible schedule a make-up. We recognize that missing a class can be inconvenient; however, it is imperative for the health and safety of all S! families and employees that children are healthy when coming to class. We will be as liberal with our class make ups as possible during this time.
2. PRACTICE GOOD HYGIENE: In addition to fostering good hygiene procedures at home, we ask that your child wash his/her hands just before coming to the gym. Upon entering the gym, everyone will be required to apply hand sanitizer. We will have sanitizer setup just outside and inside of our front door. We will also make hand sanitizer available throughout the gym.
3. WEAR A MASK: Before coming into the gym, everyone must wear a mask. Sideline Staff are required to wear a mask before, during and after classes. Athletes will be required to wear a mask while waiting for class, however, athletes are not required to wear a mask during class time. They are encouraged to wear a mask if they can tolerate it, but are not required to.
4. SOCIAL DISTANCE: Be sure to practice social distancing while at the gym. Our staff will be sure to spread out classes, mats and stations by 6ft to practice social distancing. We will also have a revised schedule in place to ensure smaller class sizes.
5. DROP OFF: Parents with athletes 6 years and older are asked to drop-off their athlete until further notice. Parents with athletes 5 years and under may stay in the lobby during their child's class however, they must be wearing a mask. We ask that athletes do not enter the building any earlier than 5 minutes before their class starts.
6. OPEN COMMUNICATION: Inform the gym should anyone in your family test positive for the virus, so that we can evaluate the risk of exposure and decide a suitable course of action.
7. SANITATION: In addition to our routine maid service, S! staff will be working to maintain sanitation by wiping down surfaces and mats before and after every class. All S! staff will be wearing masks and gloves. Sick staff will be asked to stay at home, and those coaching classes have been asked to wash hands before and after every class. To further our preventative efforts, we have hired DIS.IN.FX, a company that specializes in sanitation, to routinely disinfect our facility using an antimicrobial treatment. We have already received our first treatment. The treatment reduces cross contamination by offering long lasting surface protection from microbes.
For those of you who are not ready to return to live classes just yet, please email info@gosidelinespirit.com to explore what other options are available to you.

We are also in the process of finalizing the class schedule for when we return, but need to hear from you. Please take a moment to complete a brief survey in the link below. We appreciate your participation in advance.

Covid-19 Update
May 8, 2020
Dear Sideline Spirit Families,
On Tuesday, Governor Abbott announced that gyms would be allowed to reopen on May 18th. That said, we are pleased to inform you that we will be reopening for classes and FIRST 15 on May 18th. We missed you all and look forward to resuming some level of normalcy. Please Note: Your account has been placed on hold and you WILL NOT be charged tuition until we reopen.
At a time like this, we have never been happier to be a small boutique gym. At Sideline Spirit we have the ability to continue practicing social distancing and maintain smaller class sizes. We will be adding some earlier class times to the schedule for the remainder of May to support this effort and will share the new schedule with you in the coming days.
As mentioned in our previous communications, we will take the necessary precautions to help keep everyone healthy and safe by continuing to practice social distancing, routinely disinfecting all areas and using proper etiquette concerning gloves and masks wherever possible. We have also hired DIS.IN.FX, a company that specializes in sanitation, to routinely disinfect our facility using an antimicrobial treatment. The treatment reduces cross contamination by offering long lasting surface protection from microbes.
Furthermore, we ask for your cooperation with the following steps:
If you or your child are sick and/or have a fever, cough, cold or similar symptoms, please refrain from coming to the gym. If your child displays symptoms of illness, we will insist that they leave class, and if possible schedule a make-up. We recognize that missing a class can be inconvenient; however, it is imperative for the health and safety of all S! families and employees that children are healthy when coming to class. We will be as liberal with our class make ups as possible during this time.
In addition to fostering good hygiene procedures at home, we ask that your child wash his/her hands before coming to the gym. We will also make hand sanitizer available throughout the gym for use before and after class.
Before coming into the gym, please wear a mask.
Practice social distancing while at the gym.
Inform the gym should anyone in your family test positive for the virus, so that we can evaluate the risk of exposure and decide a suitable course of action.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation. We will get through this together and look forward to seeing you back in the gym doing what we love.
Cheers,
Your Sideline Spirit Team
Covid-19 Update
May 1, 2020
Dear Sideline Spirit Families,
We are reaching out to you today to inform you that currently, under Governor Abbott’s Phase 1 guidelines, we are still unable to open. We will be anxiously watching, waiting, and hoping for a positive outcome over the next few weeks and as soon as we have an update or a projected reopening date, we will let you know. We realize that this is a very trying time for everyone, but as always, safety is most important and Sideline Spirit will continue to do our part.
As mentioned in our previous communications, your account has been placed on hold and you WILL NOT be charged tuition until we reopen. We hope that not charging you and holding your preferred day and time of classes will provide you with a little piece of mind in a chaotic time.
As a locally owned small business, we consider ourselves an integral part of our community. We are humbled by the fact that you chose us to teach your children the sport of cheer and tumbling. All of us at Sideline love what we do and believe in our mission. We are determined to get back to what we love and know and that can only happen with you!
Some of you have asked if there is anything you can do to help support our business during this time. The number one thing that we ask is that you stay safe and come back ready to cheer, dance, jump and tumble! We also love to receive messages and videos from your athletes to our coaches and staff. Our instructors enjoy hearing from their athletes and these rays of sunshine go a long way for morale. Thank you for taking the time to share a positive review or a positive experience you have had with us on Facebook, Yelp or Google! We also encourage you to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay connected and take advantage of our virtual classes.
When the time comes for us to reopen, even if it is partially, you can rest assured that Sideline Spirit will take the necessary precautions to help keep everyone healthy and safe. We will continue to practice social distancing, routinely disinfect all areas and use proper etiquette concerning gloves and masks wherever possible. We understand that we must all proceed with caution and be careful to mitigate any health risk.
From our family to yours, stay safe, stay home and be brave. We hope to be back in the gym doing what we love in the near future.
Cheers,
Your Sideline Spirit Team
